EFT relieves a tooth pain that a dentist couldn’t help

Hi Everyone,

Pay attention to Paul Zelizer's creative approach. He says, "I asked her some basic questions like "If the pain in your teeth could talk, what would it say? … If the pain were a color what would it be? … If the pain had a shape, what would that be?" Jennifer said the pain would say "Get me out of here!" … the color would be black and it would be like a sharp, jagged thing. Then, we tapped..."

I met Jennifer (not her real name) while I was doing a 15 minute intro to EFT session. Jennifer had never heard of EFT, but asked if we could work on pain in her teeth and jaw.

The pain had been fairly intense over the past several months. She had been to the dentist several times and tried several holistic modalities to release the pain. The dentist even filed several teeth down in the sore area thinking that might help. It didn't work.

I showed Jennifer how EFT works. Then, we did a short interview. I asked her some basic questions like "If the pain in your teeth could talk, what would it say? … If the pain were a color what would it be? … If the pain had a shape, what would that be?" Jennifer said the pain would say "Get me out of here!" … the color would be black and it would be like a sharp, jagged thing. Then, we tapped.

Even though I have this pain in my teeth that is keeping me up at night, I am willing to treat myself with kindness and compassion.

Even though I have this black, jagged pain in my teeth and jaw, I accept myself as I am right now.

Even though it's a drag having this pain and I don't know what is going on, I'm willing to be as gentle as I can with myself.

Reminder phrases:

This pain in my teeth.
This pain that is keeping me up at night.
This black, jagged pain in my teeth and jaw.
It's been a drag having to keep going to the dentist.
It's been a drag being in pain and not sleeping well.
This pain in my teeth.

We then checked on the imagery. The color had gone to grey, the shape was more cloudy and the intensity went from a 9 on a scale of 0 to 10 to a 4. We tapped once more and the sharp pain was gone. There was a dull pain that felt like a residual that we weren't able to get to in the 15 minutes.

About 3 weeks later I got a call from Jennifer. She said she had been pain free for the whole period until a few days ago when the stress in her life jumped. Then, she had pain in a different area of her jaw and teeth. She said, "I know it's emotional."

We met for a session and within 25 minutes, the pain was gone. She said that the recent weeks without pain were the longest pain free period she had had for many months.

EFT won her over in 15 minutes and now she has a list of physical conditions she wants to work on.

Thankz.
